Accident – Death – Obituary News : New Delhi: In a shocking turn of events, a Jaipur court has handed down life imprisonment to three individuals, including a woman, for the brutal murder of a Delhi businessman five years ago. The victim, identified as Dushyant Sharma, aged 28, had met the accused woman, Priya Seth, aged 27, on the popular dating app Tinder in 2018. Little did Sharma know that their relationship, which began in February 2018, was built on a foundation of lies.

Sharma presented himself as a wealthy businessman named Vivan Kohli, hiding his true identity from Seth. Unbeknownst to Sharma, Seth had sinister intentions from the very beginning. She had contacted her Tinder date with the sole purpose of kidnapping and extorting money from him.

After three months of virtual communication, Seth convinced Sharma to meet her in person. She lured him to a rented apartment, where her two associates, Dikshant Kamra and Lakshya Walia, lay in wait. As soon as Sharma entered the apartment, Kamra and Walia held him hostage, demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from his family.

However, their plans quickly unraveled when they realized that the “wealthy” businessman was not as affluent as he had claimed. In a desperate attempt to secure the ransom, the kidnappers contacted Sharma’s father, demanding the hefty sum. Unfortunately, Sharma’s father could not provide the full amount but offered to arrange Rs 3-4 lakh by 4 pm.

As a sign of good faith, Sharma’s father deposited Rs 3 lakh into his son’s account. Exploiting the situation, the culprits used Sharma’s debit card to withdraw Rs 20,000 from an ATM located near Nehru Udhyan. Fearful that their crimes would be exposed, the kidnappers resorted to a gruesome act.

In a chilling sequence of events, the accused murdered Sharma, dismembered his body, and stuffed the remains into a suitcase. They callously discarded the suitcase on the road to Delhi, hoping to cover their tracks. The victim had been stabbed multiple times and suffocated with a pillow.

During the trial, Priya Seth confessed to the heinous crime. She revealed that her motive behind the kidnapping and murder was her live-in partner, Dikshant’s debt of Rs 21 lakh. Dikshant was desperate to find a way to repay his debt and concocted the plan to kidnap someone, demand ransom, and ultimately eliminate the victim.

Following the trial, Sessions Judge Ajit Kumar Hinger noted that the prosecution had presented substantial evidence to support the authenticity of the facts. The court handed down life imprisonment to Seth, Kamra, and Walia for their roles in the brutal murder of Dushyant Sharma.

This shocking case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that can lurk behind seemingly innocent online encounters. It highlights the importance of exercising caution and being vigilant while engaging with strangers on dating apps. The incident also emphasizes the need for increased awareness and safety measures to protect individuals from falling victim to such heinous crimes.

It serves as a deterrent to potential criminals and reassures the public that justice will prevail. The life sentences handed down to the perpetrators provide solace to the family and friends of Dushyant Sharma, who have endured unimaginable pain and suffering since his tragic demise.
