COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Columbus police and Central Ohio Crime Stoppers are seeking assistance from the public in resolving the case of a fatal shooting that occurred in east Columbus in 2020.

On a fateful day, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 700 block of South Weyant Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a person lying in an alley, later identified as 57-year-old David Olson, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Urgently, medics swiftly transported Olson to Grant Medical Center, but despite their efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation has revealed that two individuals were observed leaving the vicinity. However, law enforcement authorities have not apprehended any suspects in connection with the shooting.
