Accident – Death – Obituary News : Authorities Launch Search for Missing Teen in Palmdale

Authorities in Palmdale are actively searching for a critically missing teenager who disappeared on Friday. The missing teen has been identified as 17-year-old Alaia Elizabeth Wheat, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Wheat was last seen in the 6300 block of Posada Court around 3:50 p.m. Her loved ones are deeply concerned for her well-being as she has a mental health disorder. She is described as a female standing 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 168 pounds. Wheat has brown eyes and short hair with red-colored dreads. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a yellow hoodie, black leggings, and carrying a brown backpack.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has classified Wheat as a “critically missing person.” Such classification is defined as individuals who are in critical need of medical attention, have no history of running away or disappearing, are victims of a crime or foul play, are victims of kidnapping or parental abduction, or are mentally impaired to the extent that they are unable to care for themselves or pose a danger to their own safety or that of others.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Wheat’s whereabouts to contact the LASD’s Palmdale Station at 661-272-2400. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to “Crime Stoppers” at 800-222-8477 or online at lacrimestoppers.org.

In an effort to locate Wheat and raise awareness about her disappearance, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has released a photo of her. The photo, provided by the department, shows Alaia Elizabeth Wheat, 17, with short red-colored dreads.
