The Prince William Police Department has recently concluded an investigation into an attempted armed robbery and malicious wounding incident that occurred in Gainesville. The incident took place in the early hours of November 10, around 12:30 a.m., in the 8800 block of Screech Owl Court.

According to the official police report, a 17-year-old male juvenile was the victim of this incident. The victim was approached by an individual known to him, identified as the accused. The accused, in possession of a firearm, demanded the victim’s belongings. Fearing for his safety, the victim complied with the demands.

As the accused fled the scene, he headed towards a waiting vehicle driven by another male juvenile acquaintance. However, before leaving the area, the suspects fired multiple rounds from the vehicle, grazing a 21-year-old male family member who had become aware of the incident and attempted to intervene.

The victims, although shaken, contacted the police, reporting the incident. Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the 21-year-old family member were minor, and no property was reported missing. During the investigation, it was discovered that the firearm used in the incident was a BB gun, not a real firearm. The police identified both suspects as 15-year-old male juveniles.
