Chilling Murder in Remote Indian Village: Man Allegedly Peels Young Woman’s Skin in Attempt to Destroy Evidence

UMERKOTE: In a horrifying and shocking incident, a 27-year-old man has been accused of brutally murdering a young tribal woman and peeling her skin in a remote village under the Raighar police limits of Nabrangpur district in India.

The body of the victim, identified as 21-year-old Tilabati Gond from Baghbeda village, was found buried in a forest near Murumdihi village under Gona panchayat. The main suspect, Chandra Raut, has been detained by the police. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the skin was peeled off from various parts of the victim’s body, indicating an attempt to destroy evidence.
Tilabati Gond had been reported missing since Wednesday. Her father, Luduram Gond, along with other family members, launched a frantic search for her, but their efforts were in vain.
During the course of the investigation, the police received information about a body buried in the Murumdihi forest near Baghbeda. Blood stains were found in the forest, leading the police to suspect foul play. With the assistance of a scientific team, the Raighar police dug up the burial site and recovered the victim’s body. Prior to this, the family members had suspected Chandra’s involvement in Tilabati’s disappearance and filed a complaint with the Raighar police.
According to police sources, the victim was allegedly in a relationship with the 27-year-old suspect, who is married and hails from Mumrudihi. Locals also reported that Tilabati had last been seen with Chandra on Wednesday.

Following the recovery of the body, the Raighar police detained Chandra and his wife. It is believed that Chandra’s extramarital affair may have led to a dispute with his wife. Both Chandra and his wife are currently considered suspects in the murder. After an autopsy, the Raighar police handed over the victim’s body to her grieving family members. A case has been registered in this regard, and SDPO Aditya Sen stated that an investigation is underway.
This chilling incident has sent shockwaves through the remote village of Umerkote. The brutal murder and the gruesome attempt to destroy evidence has left the community in a state of fear and disbelief.
