Kanpur News: Shocking Discovery of Medical Student Found Dead with Severe Head Injuries
In a devastating turn of events, a 25-year-old medical student was tragically discovered lifeless in the basement of the old boys’ hostel at a reputable private university in Kanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. The victim, identified as Sahil Saraswat from Mathura, was a second-year MBBS student at Rama University situated on Bithoor Road.

Early in the morning, Sahil’s body was found near the staircase, prompting immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise. “We found two deep injury marks on Sahil’s head, and efforts are currently underway to determine whether this incident is a result of foul play or a tragic accident,” stated Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Anand Prakash Tiwari, as quoted by news agency PTI.
Tiwari further added, “To ensure a meticulous examination, we have decided to conduct the post-mortem examination with the assistance of a panel of three doctors.” In a bid for transparency, Tiwari also instructed that the entire autopsy process be videographed.
Upon their arrival at the hostel, Commissioner of Police RK Swarnkar and DCP West Vijay Dhull were met with a distressing sight – Sahil Saraswat’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood. Sahil resided in the old boys’ hostel, sharing his room with Amit Gautam, a third-year MBBS student, as reported by Dainik Jagran.
Tragic Events Unfold in Other Parts of India
In another unfortunate incident, a music concert held at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in Kochi, Kerala, turned into a nightmare. A stampede-like situation erupted, leading to the deaths of at least four students and several others sustaining injuries.

Another heart-wrenching incident occurred in Delhi’s Aman Vihar area in Rohini. A 16-year-old boy named Akash, a Class 10 student, fell victim to a fatal stabbing by a group of youths following a confrontation. The incident took place in November when Akash went to meet his friend at Prem Nagar Extension.
