Man Attacks Female Security Guard in Tamil Nadu Hospital

A 24-year-old man, who was reportedly intoxicated, launched a violent attack on a female security guard at a hospital in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred on Friday at a state-run hospital in Kovilpatti and was captured on CCTV camera.

The shocking footage reveals the accused, identified as Kaliraj, physically assaulting the security staff member, Padwamathi, after being prevented from entering a restricted area. In the video, Kaliraj can be seen hitting the guard, grabbing her by the neck, and twisting her hands before escaping from the scene.

The confrontation between Padwamathi and Kaliraj began as she tried to block his entry into the neonatal ward during the night. An argument ensued between the two, leading to the sudden outbreak of violence as depicted in the CCTV footage. Despite the presence of several onlookers, Kaliraj continued his attack unabated.

Fortunately, other hospital staff and individuals present in front of the ward quickly intervened, causing the accused to retreat from the scene. It was later revealed that Kaliraj was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Neonatal wards are specialized units within hospitals that provide critical medical care to newborn babies, particularly those who are sick, premature, or have other medical conditions. As a result, access to these areas is typically restricted for the safety and well-being of the infants.

Following the assault, the police promptly filed a First Information Report (FIR) and detained Kaliraj for further investigation. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough inquiry into the incident to ascertain the motives behind the attack and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
