Tragedy Strikes as School Trip Takes a Devastating Turn

Islamabad, November 26: A school teacher tragically lost her life, and 20 others, including students, suffered severe injuries after a school bus plummeted into a ravine near the Shahdara area of Islamabad. The incident occurred during a school trip on Saturday, leaving the entire community in a state of shock and mourning. According to the authorities, the accident transpired when the bus’s engine was left running while the driver was outside the vehicle. Tragically, the bus started moving downhill and ultimately landed in a deep ditch, reported Geo News.

Police Confirm One Fatality and Numerous Injured Students

The local police confirmed the heartbreaking news of one casualty and multiple injured students. The children, who were from Sheikhupura, were immediately transported to Islamabad for medical assistance. The ill-fated bus was carrying 54 individuals, including 13 teachers and staff members, 22 boys, and 19 girls.

Deceased Teacher Identified as 22-year-old Hania

The deceased teacher has been identified as 22-year-old Hania, as per Geo News. Rescuers swiftly arrived at the scene and promptly transferred the injured individuals to nearby hospitals in an effort to save lives.

Injured Students Receive Medical Treatment

Out of the injured students, 13 were admitted to Poly Clinic Hospital, while 8 were taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. Moreover, it was reported that some passengers managed to disembark from the bus as it made a stop prior to the accident.

Driver Apprehended in Wake of the Tragic Incident

Following the devastating accident, the driver was apprehended, according to a report. The Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) ordered the registration of a case in connection with the incident, as confirmed by police sources.

Adding to the growing concerns about road safety, another tragic incident occurred earlier this month in Karachi. A woman lost her life, and eight others, including children, sustained injuries in a road accident on Sharea Faisal. According to the police, the incident took place on November 10 near the Colony Gate bus stop. A speeding bus, out of control, collided with a family traveling on a motorcycle, causing extensive damage and injuries to several individuals.

In yet another devastating accident, eight people lost their lives, while two others suffered injuries in a collision in Sadiqabad, Pakistan. The incident occurred on Motorway M-5 in September, involving a car and a truck. The overspeeding car was identified as the primary cause of the collision, as reported by ARY News.
