Gurugram, Haryana: In a horrifying incident, a week-old baby, drenched in blood, was discovered abandoned by a sanitation worker in Gurugram. The shocking discovery took place on the morning of November 17, when the worker, identified as Rajesh, stumbled upon the infant with its throat slit on Darbaripur road.

Alarmed by the distressing sight, Rajesh immediately alerted the police about the gruesome find. The authorities swiftly launched an extensive search in the vicinity, but unfortunately, no substantial leads regarding the identity of the infant were found. As the investigation progressed, authorities examined the CCTV footage from cameras installed within a one-kilometer radius of the crime scene, yet no concrete evidence was uncovered.

Dr. Sudhir Kumar, who conducted the post-mortem examination, revealed that the innocent child was no more than a week old and appeared to be in good health. Based on the postmortem report, which was released on Thursday, the police registered an FIR against unknown individuals at Badshahpur Police Station. The FIR includes charges of murder, destruction of evidence, and concealment of birth under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), according to news agency PTI.

To expedite the investigation and shed light on the tragic incident, a dedicated crime branch team has been assigned to the case. The team is currently interrogating street vendors and other individuals in an attempt to identify both the child and the perpetrators behind this heinous act.

The discovery of the lifeless newborn has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with residents expressing their deep concern and outrage. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address issues related to child abandonment and protection.
