Pune: In a shocking incident that unfolded at a fancy residential complex in Pune’s Wanavdi neighborhood, a 36-year-old man lost his life after being punched in the nose by his wife. The tragic incident occurred on Friday when the man, identified as Nikhil Khanna, refused to fulfill his wife’s demand to take her to Dubai for her birthday celebration.

Nikhil Khanna, a successful businessman in the construction industry, had tied the knot with Renuka, 38, six years ago out of affection and love.

According to a senior police officer at the Wanavdi Police station, the argument between the couple escalated due to Nikhil’s failure to purchase an expensive birthday gift for his wife, as well as his refusal to plan a trip to Dubai as she desired. Renuka was also disappointed that Nikhil did not agree to accompany her to Delhi to celebrate the birthdays of her relatives.

In the midst of the heated argument, Renuka resorted to physically assaulting Nikhil, landing a powerful punch on his face. The force of the blow was so intense that it resulted in a broken nose and several damaged teeth, causing Nikhil to lose consciousness while experiencing heavy bleeding,” explained the senior police officer.

Following the tragic altercation, the authorities have filed a case against Renuka under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. She has been apprehended and remains in custody as further investigations unfold.

This unfortunate incident has left the residents of Pune’s Wanavdi neighborhood in shock and disbelief. The local community is mourning the loss of a young life and expressing their condolences to Nikhil’s grieving family.
