New Delhi, November 25 (PTI) – The Delhi Police has initiated a thorough investigation after a tragic incident claimed the lives of three individuals – a plumber, his son, and an electrician – due to an electric shock at a renowned private hospital in the Ranhola area of outer Delhi, officials reported on Saturday.

According to authorities, the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday when the trio ventured into a water tank within the premises of the private hospital to carry out repair work on a motor. Tragically, they were trapped inside the tank and succumbed to electric shock.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Jimmy Chiram stated, “We have promptly registered an FIR, and the matter is currently under investigation. We await the results of the autopsies to shed further light on this distressing incident.”

The FIR was lodged against unidentified individuals on Friday night under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 287 – which pertains to negligent conduct with respect to machinery, and 304-A – which addresses causing death by negligence. The Ranhola police station is overseeing the case.

The victims have been identified as Sarven Kumar, a 59-year-old electrician employed by the hospital, as well as Kunwar Pal, aged 40, and his 20-year-old son Raman, both of whom were professional plumbers.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting questions regarding safety protocols and adherence to regulations at the private hospital.
