Tragic Thanksgiving Day Crash Claims Two Lives on Farm-to-Market Road 624

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, (November 22, 2023) – Two lives were tragically lost in a devastating crash that occurred on Wednesday night on Farm-to-Market Road 624 near Orange Grove, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Michael Perez, a 48-year-old resident of Corpus Christi, lost his life after a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday night on Farm-to-Market Road 624 near Orange Grove, as reported by DPS.

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Michael Perez from Corpus Christi.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the crash occurred around 11 p.m. when a Ford Expedition, carrying two occupants, ran a stop sign on FM 70 and 624. The SUV collided with a crane truck driven by Perez, causing the SUV to spin out of control and burst into flames.

Tragically, one of the passengers in the SUV also lost their life in the accident. The driver of the SUV was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The authorities are currently investigating this heart-wrenching incident, which took place between Calallen and Orange Grove.
