According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the unfortunate collision occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Wayne Road in Guilford Township. The circumstances leading up to the crash indicate that a Honda Civic, traveling northbound in the northbound lanes, inexplicably veered across into the southbound lanes and violently collided head-on with a southbound Jeep Renegade.

The driver of the Honda Civic has been identified as 18-year-old Logan Gilbert from Chambersburg. Tragically, Gilbert was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated. He was immediately airlifted to York Hospital, where, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he was later pronounced dead.
