An Indian woman has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly killing her husband for refusing to take her to Dubai to celebrate her birthday. The incident occurred at their home in the Wanwadi area of Pune.

The victim, identified as 36-year-old Nikhil Khanna, was a real estate developer. His wife, Renuka Khanna, has been booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to reports, Renuka wanted her husband to take her to Dubai to celebrate her birthday. The couple had an argument when Nikhil did not fulfill her wishes and failed to give her expensive gifts for her birthday and their anniversary.

Furthermore, Renuka was also upset with Nikhil for not agreeing to go to Delhi to celebrate the birthdays of some relatives. The primary investigation revealed that the couple had a history of quarrels, despite having had a love marriage in 2017.

Nikhil’s father, Dr. Pushpraj Khanna, filed the complaint against Renuka. He explained that they had tried to counsel the couple, but Renuka’s behavior did not change. She even fought with domestic workers, making it difficult for them to retain any house help.

On November 5, the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary, but Renuka was unhappy with Nikhil’s choice of gift. She assaulted him during that time, but they managed to resolve the issue.

The situation escalated when Nikhil failed to arrange flight tickets for Renuka to go to Delhi. She expressed her unhappiness and berated him for not taking her to Dubai as well. In the midst of the argument, Renuka punched Nikhil, fracturing his nose.

The punch caused severe bleeding, and Nikhil collapsed, struggling to breathe. Dr. Khanna rushed home upon receiving a call from Renuka, who urgently asked him to come. When he entered the room, he found his son lying on the floor naked, with blood coming out from his nose and mouth.

Dr. Khanna immediately tried to provide CPR, but there was no response. He rushed Nikhil to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police stated that the force of the punch was so strong that it also cracked some of Nikhil’s teeth.

Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Patange explained that it is believed the blood blocked Nikhil’s airways, preventing him from breathing. A post-mortem will be conducted to confirm this.

Renuka is currently in custody, and the police will attempt to speak with her once she is in a stable mental state. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge as the case progresses..
