Jordan, aged 47, residing on the 1100 block of Newcastle Lane, now faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder with the intent of causing death or great bodily harm, first-degree murder with the probability of death, aggravated battery involving the discharge of a firearm, unlawful use or possession of weapons or ammunition by a convicted felon, and two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding. The authorities revealed that the incident unfolded on Wednesday morning at around 9:30 a.m. when detectives from the Aurora Police Department spotted Jordan, who had been a suspect in the fatal shooting that occurred in October. The detectives noticed him inside a vehicle near the 1400 block of North Farnsworth Avenue in Aurora. Consequently, the officers in the vicinity attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. However, Jordan chose to evade the police, leading them on a pursuit before managing to escape.

In their press release, the police stated that the pursuit was eventually terminated. However, through meticulous investigative means, they were able to locate Jordan in DeKalb. The DeKalb Police Department subsequently apprehended him, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

On the afternoon of October 5th, several 911 calls were made reporting the sound of gunshots and a gunshot victim in the 100 block of North Calhoun Street. Responding swiftly to the distressing calls, the police arrived at the scene to find Pegues in the backyard of a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds. Aurora paramedics immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, as confirmed by officials.
