The arrest came in connection with a scam worth ₹18 lakh registered in Navi Mumbai, as confirmed by the Cyber police station. The authorities have successfully frozen ₹11 lakh linked to the suspect, identified as Bharatlal Prajapati, who operates an aluminum fabrication shop.

According to the police, Prajapati employed a modus operandi that involved reaching out to potential victims through the Telegram app. He would entice them with part-time job opportunities and subsequently convince them to part with their money under various pretexts. In the case of the ₹18 lakh scam, the Cyber police managed to trace Prajapati by conducting a comprehensive technical analysis of his account and phone number. Concurrently, law enforcement authorities successfully requested the freezing of the funds through the cooperation of the bank. Ultimately, after pinpointing his location, a team, led by Police Sub-Inspector Sachin Gidde, apprehended Prajapati in Nagpur. During the subsequent interrogation, he admitted to his involvement in the crimes.
