Two More Women Accuse Sean “Diddy” Combs of Sexual Abuse, Allegations Include Rape and Forced Drugging

This comes just one week after Combs settled a separate lawsuit with singer Cassie, which contained allegations of rape and physical abuse.

The two new lawsuits were filed on Thursday, coinciding with the expiration of the Adult Survivors Act, a New York law that allows victims of sexual abuse to file civil action within a one-year window, regardless of the statute of limitations.

According to the filings, the acts of sexual assault, beatings, and forced drugging took place in the early 1990s when Combs was a talent director, party promoter, and rising figure in New York City’s hip-hop community.

One of the accusers, Joi Dickerson, claimed that she was a 19-year-old student at Syracuse University when she agreed to meet Combs at a restaurant in Harlem in 1991. After their date, Combs allegedly drugged her and sexually assaulted her. Shockingly, the suit alleges that Combs videotaped the assault and later shared the video with several friends in the music industry. The exposure of the video caused severe emotional distress to Dickerson, leading to depression and her eventual hospitalization, forcing her to drop out of college.

In a separate lawsuit filed on the same day, an unnamed woman accused Combs and R&B singer Aaron Hall of sexually assaulting her and her friend, as well as beating her several days later. The woman, referred to as Jane Doe, stated that she and her roommate went to Hall’s home with him and Combs after a music industry event in 1990 or 1991. According to the suit, Combs coerced her into having sex with him, and later, Hall forcefully entered the room and assaulted her. The suit also claims that Combs and Hall assaulted Jane Doe’s friend after Combs finished with her.

A few days later, Combs allegedly showed up at the women’s home, attempting to prevent them from speaking out about the abuse. The suit states that he choked Jane Doe until she passed out.

Combs’ spokesperson denied the allegations in an email statement, accusing the women of taking advantage of the temporary extension of the statute of limitations provided by the New York law.

Tyrone Blackburn, the attorney representing the unnamed accuser, mentioned that his client is in the process of gathering medical documents and witness statements to support her case. The suit was filed just before the expiration of the statute of limitations.

It is worth noting that Dickerson filed police reports in both New York and New Jersey after the alleged abuse took place, but it is unclear which other jurisdictions were involved.

Dickerson also approached friends in the music industry at the time to confirm the existence of the tape, but they were too afraid of potential retaliation from Combs, which could have jeopardized their careers and future opportunities.

In the years following the alleged assaults, Combs went on to found his own record label, Bad Boys Records, and became one of the most influential hip-hop producers and executives in history, working with artists such as Mary J. Blige and Biggie Smalls.

These new lawsuits come after Cassie Ventura made explosive allegations last week, claiming that Combs had subjected her to a pattern of abuse during their relationship, which began in 2005. Ventura accused Combs of plying her with drugs, subjecting her to beatings, and forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes while he watched and filmed them. She also alleged that he raped her when she tried to end the relationship in 2018. The lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed sum one day after it was filed.

In a statement, Ventura expressed her desire to resolve the matter on her own terms, while Combs wished her and her family the best.

The Associated Press typically refrains from naming individuals who claim to be victims of sexual abuse unless they come forward publicly, as Dickerson has done.

As the legal battle unfolds, Combs’ reputation and career may face significant repercussions. With more women speaking out against him, it remains to be seen how the music industry and the public will respond to these serious allegations..
