Tragic Collapse of Wall in Delhi Leaves Two Children Dead and Another Fighting for Life

New Delhi, November 24, 2023 – A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the bustling streets of Jaitpur, South Delhi, as tragedy struck when the wall of an empty plot collapsed, claiming the lives of two innocent children, aged 8 and 5. Another child, merely six years old, is currently fighting for their life as a result of the devastating incident, according to the local authorities.

The deceased young souls were identified as Ishaan, 8, and Hamza, 5, while Roshini, 6, is currently receiving critical medical care in order to survive this horrific ordeal. All three children were residents of Jaitpur Extension-II and were known to be neighbors, their lives tragically intertwined by this unfortunate incident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southeast, Rajesh Deo, confirmed that the distressing information about the wall collapse was received around 6:30 pm on Friday. Immediate action was taken as the police control room (PCR) was alerted, and local authorities were dispatched to the scene.

“Upon reaching the location, it was discovered that the injured children had already been rushed to an unknown hospital,” stated Deo.

The site of the incident was an empty plot, enclosed by a decade-old brick wall, which unexpectedly crumbled on one side. The children happened to be passing through the street at the unfortunate moment when the dilapidated wall collapsed, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.

“Our crime team is currently present at the scene, meticulously gathering evidence to ascertain the cause of this devastating incident,” added Deo.

According to an official familiar with the ongoing investigation, Ishaan was pronounced dead upon arrival at Alshifa Hospital in Jamia Nagar, while Hamza was tragically declared dead at AIIMS. The third child, Roshni, is fighting for their life, and medical professionals are doing everything in their power to ensure her survival. Legal actions are being initiated to hold the responsible parties accountable.

This heart-wrenching incident has left the community in shock and mourning. The residents of Jaitpur Extension-II are deeply saddened by the loss of these young lives and are praying for the recovery of Roshni.
