Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], November 24 (ANI): In a successful operation, security forces in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir eliminated two terrorists, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander and sniper, Quari. The encounter took place in the Bajimaal area of Dharamsala, where the joint team of the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police engaged with the terrorists.

During the encounter, security forces recovered two AK-47 rifles, 10 magazines, ammunition, and other materials from the terrorists. The elimination of Quari, who was responsible for orchestrating several attacks, including the Dangri incident where six innocent civilians lost their lives, is considered a significant blow to the revival of terrorism in the Rajouri and Poonch areas.

Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, revealed that some of the terrorists who have infiltrated into India from across the border are retired Pakistani soldiers. Speaking to the media after paying tribute to the five soldiers who lost their lives in the Rajouri firefight, Lt Gen Dwivedi emphasized the bravery and determination of the Indian forces in taking on well-trained and equipped foreign terrorists.

The operation not only eliminated two dreaded terrorists but also dealt a major blow to the terror ecosystem and Pakistan. However, Lt Gen. Dwivedi cautioned that there could still be 20-25 terrorists operating in the area. He expressed confidence in controlling the situation in a year’s time with the help of locals.

The joint forces team involved in the operation prioritized the elimination of these terrorists due to their involvement in the killing of innocent civilians in Dangri, Kandi, and Rajouri. Lt Gen. Dwivedi highlighted the importance of their elimination in ensuring peace and security in the region.
