Tragic Rollover Crash Claims Four Lives on State Route 94 in California

A devastating accident occurred in the early hours of Thanksgiving Day, resulting in the loss of four lives and leaving one person injured. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the incident took place on State Route 94 when a black BMW M3, driven by a 26-year-old man, was travelling at an excessive speed. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle lost control, causing it to flip over.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m., with the force of the collision causing three passengers and the driver to be ejected from the vehicle. Tragically, all four individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. The only survivor, a 22-year-old woman who was seated in the front passenger seat and had been wearing her seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The authorities have identified the deceased passengers as a 35-year-old resident of Chula Vista, a 33-year-old woman from an unknown city, and a 20-year-old female from National City.

As part of their investigation, the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office will conduct a toxicology report to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.

Temporary Closure of Eastbound SR-94

The incident led to the temporary closure of the eastbound lanes of SR-94, just west of I-15, for several hours. The closure was put in place to facilitate the investigation and clear the wreckage. Fortunately, the road was reopened at approximately 7 a.m., allowing traffic to resume its normal flow.
