Overview
In a successful intelligence-based operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Balochistan claimed to have eliminated four suspected terrorists in Turbat town, located in the Kech district. The operation was conducted near a bus terminal on Pasni Road, based on credible information received by the CTD.
The Operation
As the CTD’s team approached the identified location, they were met with armed resistance from the suspects who attacked them using automatic weapons and hand grenades. In response, the CTD personnel retaliated, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire that resulted in the deaths of four assailants. However, some of the attackers managed to flee towards the south of Turbat under the cover of darkness.
Recoveries
Following the operation, the CTD team discovered several items of significance. These included two sub-machine guns, a pistol, 8 kilograms of explosives, a hand grenade, two motorbikes, a motorcycle rigged with an improvised explosive device (IED), and a substantial amount of ammunition. These findings indicate the level of preparedness and potential threat the apprehended terrorists posed.
Investigation and Identifications
The bodies of the deceased attackers were handed over to the local police, who subsequently transported them to the district hospital. One of the individuals was identified as Balaach by his family. Local law enforcement agencies, in collaboration with the CTD, have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter to uncover any potential network or accomplices associated with the terrorists.

They alleged that Balaach had been previously apprehended by the CTD and presented before a local court, which granted a 10-day custody remand. The aggrieved family has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Balaach’s death. They have vowed to continue their sit-in until their demands for justice are met.
Conclusion
The successful elimination of four suspected terrorists in Turbat highlights the CTD’s commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining law and order in Balochistan. The operation serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in eradicating terrorism from the region. The investigation into the incident will play a vital role in unraveling any potential links to larger terrorist networks, ensuring the safety and security of the local population.
