According to the complaint lodged by Saleh’s father, he had gone to his aunt’s place in Ghansawangi, Jalna, on November 12. On the evening of November 17, Saleh’s parents received the shocking news of his alleged suicide, and his body was brought back home.

Upon seeing Saleh’s body, his parents fell unconscious. Suspiciously, some relatives swiftly took the body to the third floor of the house to bathe and shroud it. Within hours, at 3 am, the last rites were performed, according to an officer involved in the investigation.

However, the following day, Saleh’s father recalled the marks he had seen on his son’s face and started questioning the relatives. He even reached out to the Ghansawangi police station, expressing his suspicion that Saleh had been murdered. Unfortunately, he was turned away.

Frustrated by the lack of action, Saleh’s father, along with other relatives, contacted Jalna’s Superintendent of Police (SP) and lodged a formal complaint. As a result, a fresh probe was ordered, and the police sought permission from the court to exhume the body. After receiving the necessary permission, a police team inspected the graveyard on Wednesday. On Thursday, in the presence of the tehsildar, the body was exhumed for autopsy.
