Police Officer Arrested for Raping Minor in Ranchi
A shocking incident came to light in Jharkhand’s Ranchi, where an assistant sub-inspector of police has been arrested on charges of raping a minor girl for over a year. The survivor’s mother bravely approached the police station on November 14, 2023, to report the heinous crime.

The accused, identified as Neeraj Khosla, was serving as an ASI at the Shukdev Nagar Police Station. It has been revealed that he had been sexually assaulting the young girl since the previous year, causing unimaginable trauma to her.
The survivor, who had been enduring the torment silently, finally confided in her mother on November 10, 2023, when she complained of unbearable stomach ache. The distressed girl narrated the harrowing details of her ordeal, prompting her mother to take immediate action. Consequently, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against Neeraj Khosla under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) on November 14, 2023.
The local police wasted no time in initiating a thorough investigation into the matter. Swift and efficient work by the authorities led to the arrest of the accused just two days after the FIR was filed, ensuring that justice is served in a timely manner.
However, the survivor’s family found themselves subjected to further distress as they alleged harassment by the accused’s family. Fearing for their safety, they sought protection from the authorities. In her complaint, the survivor’s mother stated that they were constantly receiving threats from the accused’s family. She also revealed that the mother, wife, and two brothers-in-law of the accused had brutally assaulted her husband, who works at a construction site.

The police are currently conducting further investigations into the allegations made by the survivor’s family. They are determined to gather all necessary evidence and ensure that every guilty party involved in the heinous crime faces the consequences.
Meanwhile, the district authorities have taken note of the survivor’s traumatic experience and have demanded suitable compensation for her, recognizing the need to support her in her journey towards healing and recovery.
