In a tragic incident that occurred just meters away from Independence Park in the city of Bahía Blanca, a 41-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the chest following an argument. The crime came to light on Thursday, but it took place on Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Agustín de Arrieta and Balboa streets. The Local Police were alerted by a passer-by who witnessed the altercation between two homeless individuals who resided in the area.

According to the witness, one of the individuals emerged from beneath a cluster of trees clutching his chest before collapsing on the ground. The victim, later identified as Eduardo Adrián Álvarez, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A suspect, identified as Maximiliano Sosa, was apprehended by the Police shortly after the incident. Both the victim and the perpetrator were homeless.

The motives behind the altercation remain unclear and are currently under investigation by the Functional Instruction Unit No. 5 of the Bahía Blanca Judicial Department, led by Jorge Antonio Viego. The case has been classified as “homicide.”

Just four days prior to this incident, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Barracas, a charred body was discovered in an old collapsed shed. The victim, an unidentified woman between the ages of 40 and 70, was found by a homeless man who promptly reported the gruesome discovery to the Federal Police. The suspect, Exequiel Patricio Suárez, a 24-year-old homeless man, was subsequently arrested.

The relentless wave of urban violence continues unabated, with another incident occurring in the Federal Capital. A homeless man, who had been injured by another individual wielding a knife, attacked two city police officers and even an attending doctor from the SAME (Mobile Emergency Medical Care Service). The altercation began in the late afternoon at the intersection of Marcelo T. de Alvear and Carlos Pellegrini, prompting multiple calls to emergency services.

“One of them gave the other a short stab wound,” explained sources close to the case. The injured homeless man then proceeded to kick the SAME doctor in the chest when he attempted to provide medical assistance. The doctor promptly filed a complaint against the aggressor at Neighborhood Police Station 1A.
