21-Year-Old Dalit Man Assaulted and Forced to Hold Footwear in Mouth for Demanding Salary

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Gujarat’s Morbi city police have lodged a case against a female entrepreneur and six others for allegedly assaulting a 21-year-old Dalit man. The victim, identified as Nilesh Dalsaniya, had been working at the woman’s company for a period of two weeks before the incident took place on Wednesday.

According to an official, the accused individuals forced Dalsaniya to apologize by placing their footwear in his mouth after he requested his salary. The incident occurred at the woman’s office located in the Ravapar Crossroad commercial complex. The accused have been booked on charges of assault, criminal intimidation, rioting, and under relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Dalsaniya promptly filed a complaint, which led to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) by the Morbi city’s ‘A’ division police. The woman, identified as Vibhuti Patel aka Raniba, her brother Om Patel, and manager Parikshit are among the accused individuals, as confirmed by Pratipalsinh Zala, Deputy Superintendent of Police (SC/ST Cell).

Vibhuti Patel is the proprietor of Raniba Industries Pvt Ltd, a company specializing in tiles marketing. Dalsaniya had been hired by Patel at the beginning of October with a monthly salary of ₹12,000, as stated in the FIR. However, on October 18, Dalsaniya was abruptly terminated. When he requested payment for the 16 days he had worked, Patel avoided giving a clear response and subsequently ignored his calls.

The situation escalated on Wednesday evening when Dalsaniya, accompanied by his brother Mehul and neighbor Bhavesh, visited Patel’s office. Upon their arrival, Om Patel, the businesswoman’s brother, arrived with a group of individuals and proceeded to assault the trio. Dalsaniya was slapped and dragged to the terrace of the commercial complex by Vibhuti Patel herself, as stated in the FIR.

The complainant further alleged that Vibhuti Patel, along with Parikshit Patel, Om Patel, and several unidentified men, beat him with belts and physically assaulted him. They even forced Dalsaniya to place Vibhuti Patel’s footwear in his mouth and coerced him into apologizing for demanding his salary. Additionally, they threatened him with harm if he was seen in the Ravapar Crossroad area again. The accused also recorded a video of the incident, forcing Dalsaniya to falsely claim that he had come to extort money from Vibhuti’s office.

Following the ordeal, the victim, a Dalit man, was taken to Morbi civil hospital for medical treatment and is currently receiving care. Pratipalsinh Zala confirmed that all the accused have been charged with assault, criminal intimidation, rioting, and under relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The police are currently investigating the case, and no arrests have been made at this time..
