Details of the Incident:
According to officials, the victim, Nilesh Dalsaniya, filed a complaint with Morbi city’s ‘A’ division police, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused. The businesswoman, identified as Vibhuti Patel, also known as Raniba, her brother Om Patel, and manager Parikshit, are among those named in the FIR. Pratipalsinh Zala, Deputy Superintendent of Police (SC/ST Cell), confirmed the registration of the case.

Vibhuti Patel owns Raniba Industries Private Limited, which operates from a commercial complex at Ravapar Crossroad. Nilesh Dalsaniya, who works in the tiles marketing sector, was hired by Patel on a monthly salary of ₹12,000. However, on October 18, Patel abruptly terminated his employment. When Dalsaniya requested his salary for the 16 days he worked, Patel evaded the issue and eventually stopped responding to his calls, as mentioned in the FIR.

The Assault and Humiliation:
On the fateful day, Dalsaniya, accompanied by his brother Mehul and neighbor Bhavesh, visited Patel’s office in the evening to address the salary issue. However, upon their arrival, Om Patel, Vibhuti Patel’s brother, arrived with a group of accomplices and launched a brutal assault on the trio. According to Mr. Zala, they were all subjected to physical violence.

The FIR further revealed that Vibhuti Patel herself slapped Dalsaniya and forcefully took him to the terrace of the commercial complex. There, the accused, including Parikshit Patel, Om Patel, and several unidentified men, subjected him to further beatings, using belts, kicks, and punches.

Moreover, she issued threats, warning him of dire consequences if he ever appeared in the Ravapar Crossroad area again.

The accused individuals also recorded a video wherein they coerced the victim into falsely admitting that he had come to Vibhuti Patel’s office with the intention of extorting money. The video provides evidence of the victim’s humiliation and the unjust treatment he endured.

Medical Treatment and Legal Action:
After the incident, Nilesh Dalsaniya was rushed to Morbi Civil Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries. The police have booked all the accused parties under various charges, including assault, criminal intimidation, rioting, and relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Pratipalsinh Zala confirmed that investigations are underway, although no arrests have been made thus far.

Conclusion:
The incident of assault and humiliation against Nilesh Dalsaniya has raised concerns about the safety and discrimination faced by individuals from marginalized communities. The case not only highlights the need for stricter implementation of laws safeguarding the rights of Dalits but also emphasizes the importance of promoting a more inclusive and egalitarian society. The authorities must ensure a thorough investigation into the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice, sending a strong message against such acts of brutality and discrimination..
