Accident – Death – Obituary News : Bhopal Woman Fights Off Attempted Rape by Three Men in Karbala Park

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh – A courageous woman bravely fought back against three men who attempted to rape her in Karbala park on VIP road late Wednesday night. The 24-year-old complainant, who had previously worked at a local hospital, had come into contact with Vivek Dhakad, a liftman at the same hospital, according to Koh-e-fiza police station house officer (SHO) Brijendra Marskole.

The incident occurred when the woman ventured out of her house to buy groceries and unexpectedly encountered Dhakad. He insisted on speaking to her about something important and led her to Karbala park. As they conversed, Dhakad’s two friends, Sudhir and another unidentified man, appeared on the scene. Without warning, the trio forcibly dragged the woman towards the bushes, attempting to subdue her. However, she valiantly fought back, screaming for help. Terrified by her resistance, the assailants quickly fled the scene.

Following the incident, the woman immediately reported the crime to the police, who have now launched a manhunt to apprehend the three attackers.

Husband and In-Laws Face Charges in Dowry Death Case

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the Chhola police have made significant progress in solving the suicide case of a 27-year-old woman. The police have booked her husband and in-laws for allegedly subjecting her to dowry-related torture.

Chhola police station house officer (SHO) Suresh Chandra Nagar revealed that Chhaya Patel, the deceased woman, tragically took her own life at her residence in Chhola on October 3. Her husband and in-laws immediately rushed her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead by the medical staff. The police were immediately notified, prompting an investigation under the supervision of ACP Richa Jain.

After thorough examination, the police determined that the victim’s husband, Pushpendra Patel, and his family had subjected her to both physical and mental harassment in their relentless pursuit of a dowry of INR 3 lakh. Unable to endure the torment any longer, the woman resorted to suicide. Consequently, all the accused parties have been charged under section 498(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.

Man Arrested for Raping Woman under False Marriage Pretenses

In yet another distressing incident, a man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping a woman under the false promise of marriage.

According to Shahpura police station house officer (SHO) Raghunath Singh, the survivor, a 23-year-old woman, approached the police late Wednesday night. She claimed to have been in contact with a man named Raj Verma, aged 23 and a resident of Bag Sewaniya, since 2019. The survivor alleged that Verma had deceived her into a fraudulent marriage in 2020 and subsequently subjected her to repeated sexual assaults.

Upon receiving the complaint, the police promptly registered the case and initiated a search operation to apprehend the accused. Remarkably, within a span of only 12 hours after the complaint was filed, the police successfully apprehended Verma. He will be presented before the court in due course, according to SHO Singh.

These incidents highlight the urgent need for increased focus on women’s safety and the swift delivery of justice in cases of sexual assault. The authorities must continue their efforts to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, particularly women, in order to create a society free from such heinous crimes..
