Accident – Death – Obituary News : WAREHAM (WBSM) — A woman from Wareham has been arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol following a rollover crash into a cranberry bog in the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on November 23, prompting the immediate response of Wareham Police, Fire, and EMS to Maple Springs Road. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a vehicle that had overturned and submerged in water within a cranberry bog.

Fortunately, a kind-hearted passerby had already come to the aid of the sole occupant of the vehicle, assisting them in exiting the overturned car.

The Wareham Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene and conducted a thorough search of the vehicle and surrounding water, ensuring that all potential hazards were secured.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 31-year-old Alisha McGough, a resident of Wareham. McGough now faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

McGough is scheduled to appear in Wareham District Court for arraignment on Friday, November 24.
