PHILADELPHIA, PA – Tragedy struck the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia on Tuesday night when a shooting incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left five others injured. The Philadelphia Police swiftly responded to reports of gunfire at the 3200 block of North Fairhill Street, near Allegheny Avenue, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Shockingly, the scene revealed that a staggering number of at least 70 shots had been fired.

Among the victims were seven men, ranging in age from 19 to 38, who were struck by the hail of bullets. Regrettably, 31-year-old Roger Marquez and 38-year-old Leon Pierre succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, leaving their families devastated and the community mourning their tragic loss.

The remaining five victims, aged 19, 30, 33, 33, and 34, are currently undergoing medical treatment for their injuries. Their conditions vary, with some being in critical state, highlighting the severity of the incident. Interim Police Commissioner John Stanford confirmed that several firearms were recovered at the scene, further emphasizing the extreme violence that took place.

While the motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, law enforcement authorities discovered narcotics at the location, suggesting a potential link to drug-related activities. The Philadelphia Police Department is actively seeking information from the public and urges anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and assist in their investigation.
