Accident – Death – Obituary News : Two young students from the Central University of Punjab in Bathinda’s Ghudda village tragically lost their lives on Tuesday night when their motorcycle collided with a pole on the campus. The victims, identified as 22-year-old Ashwin and 23-year-old Amit Kurean, hailed from Kerala and were second-year post-graduate students at the university.

The incident occurred when the bike was reportedly being driven at a high speed and the driver lost control upon encountering a speed breaker, ultimately colliding with a pole. Ashwin and Amit were immediately rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in critical condition. Authorities at the Nandgarh police station have initiated a preliminary investigation into the incident. Expressing his grief and shock, the university’s Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW), Sanjeev K Thakur, revealed that Ashwin was pursuing his studies in the English department, while Amit was enrolled in the economics program. Ashwin resided in the university’s hostel, whereas Amit lived in a rented accommodation in Ghudda village. The DSW confirmed that the families of both students have been notified about the tragic accident, adding to the immense sorrow experienced by their loved ones.
