The accused, identified as Vijay Singh, mercilessly attacked 52-year-old Saroj Devi on Thursday, leading to her untimely demise. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Samar Bahadur Singh revealed that the motive behind this heinous crime was the accused’s desire to claim his share in the property following the demise of his father, Rajendra Singh.

According to ASP Singh, the relationship between the accused and his stepmother had always been strained, with no friendly bond existing between them. This acrimony escalated to a tragic climax when Vijay Singh resorted to violence, resorting to hacking his stepmother to death. The victim, Saroj Devi, who did not have any children of her own, fell prey to this brutal act, leaving the entire community in shock and grief.

Law enforcement authorities wasted no time and swiftly apprehended the accused involved in this gruesome incident. The details of this second incident are equally disturbing, as the accused and his brother butchered the rape survivor with an axe on the main road. Shockingly, Pawan was previously accused of raping the victim three years ago when she was still a minor.
