Four teenagers, namely Dontral Beaver (16), Damien Hernandez (17), Gianni Robinson (17), and Treavion Randolph (16), are now facing second-degree murder charges following the vicious beating that led to the tragic death of 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis near Rancho High School in Las Vegas. The judicial system has decided to prosecute these young individuals as adults, underscoring the severity of the crime and the importance of holding them accountable. Jonathan succumbed to his injuries six days after the attack due to severe brain trauma.

The altercation, which reportedly stemmed from a dispute over stolen headphones and possibly a marijuana vape pen, quickly escalated into a mob-style assault, leaving Jonathan unconscious and defenseless. The disturbing incident was partially captured on video and shared on various social media platforms, revealing a group of teenagers relentlessly attacking their helpless victim. In a heartfelt tribute on a memorial website, Jonathan’s father praised his son’s bravery, stating that he died while courageously defending a friend who was being bullied.

In addition to the four teenagers mentioned above, five other suspects under the age of 16 have also been apprehended and booked on suspicion of murder. However, it will be up to the Clark County District Attorney’s office to determine whether these five individuals will also face adult charges. The legal proceedings have already commenced, with the four teenagers appearing in the Las Vegas Justice Court on Tuesday, visibly trembling as they confronted the consequences of their heinous actions.

Expanding the Circle of Suspects

Although nine suspects are now in custody, law enforcement authorities are still seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an additional person of interest linked to this fatal assault. The individual in question was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants. Moreover, according to police documents, some of the teenagers involved in the deadly beating may have affiliations with notorious gangs such as the Young Rich Team, Murder Block, and 2100 Block, adding a grim dimension to this unfolding tragedy.
