Accident – Death – Obituary News : Local Man Arrested Multiple Times in Connection to Break-ins, Released Again, Say Saugeen Shores Police

Saugeen Shores Police have reported the arrest of a 29-year-old man from Bruce County who has been connected to several break and enter incidents. This marks yet another arrest for the suspect, who has been released once again, much to the dismay of local residents.

According to authorities, the suspect has been apprehended numerous times, with his previous arrests taking place in September 2022, March 2023, June and July, August, and November. The police have expressed their concerns over the repeated release of the individual, highlighting the need for stricter measures to ensure community safety.

The initial incident that led to the suspect’s identification occurred in late September 2022. During this time, the police investigated two commercial break-ins in the area. One of the break-ins occurred at a restaurant on Goderich Street in Port Elgin, where a drive-thru window was smashed, and three cash registers were stolen. Additionally, a dentist’s office was also targeted, resulting in the theft of supplies and instruments. CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying the suspect, leading to his subsequent arrest. Furthermore, the individual was also linked to a boat break-in in Southampton earlier that same month.

In another incident on September 28th, 2022, just two days prior to his initial arrest, the suspect was apprehended as the primary suspect in the theft of a taxi from Port Elgin. Despite these charges, the suspect was released by the courts on March 10th, 2023, under the condition that he reside in Owen Sound and remain at his residence at all times. However, just three days later, on March 13th, he was arrested once again by Owen Sound police for failing to comply with the release order and was remanded back into custody.

On June 23rd, 2023, the suspect was found guilty of several charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, break and enter, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, among others. Although some charges were dropped during the court proceedings, he was sentenced to 210 days of pre-sentence custody and one year of probation.

Despite this conviction, the suspect found himself in trouble with the law yet again. On July 8th, he was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime. Following a brief period of respite, the individual was once again apprehended on August 9th, this time in connection to a vehicle break and enter in progress. Just over three weeks later, on August 31st, he was arrested for failing to comply with a release order, following a suspicious person report.

The latest update from Saugeen Shores Police reveals that the accused was released on November 16th, only to be arrested once more on November 19th at a residence on Bruce Road 13. This time, he faces numerous charges, including break and enter. Despite the repeated arrests and charges, the suspect was released again, much to the frustration of local residents who fear for their safety.

The ongoing release of the repeat offender has sparked concerns among the community, with many calling for stricter bail conditions and a reevaluation of the judicial system. Local residents are seeking reassurance from the authorities that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure their safety and prevent further criminal activities.
