Fatal Accident Claims Life of Jackson Resident

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol has reported a tragic incident that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning, resulting in the loss of 33-year-old Jesiah Cady from Jackson.

The fatal accident took place at approximately 1 a.m. on Highway 63, when Richard Thomas, a 55-year-old resident of Moss Point, was driving his 2000 Honda Civic northbound. Tragically, Cady, who was walking in the northbound lane heading south, was struck by Thomas’ vehicle.

The impact of the collision caused severe injuries to Cady, and despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities from the Mississippi Highway Patrol are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the exact cause and any contributing factors.
