Investigation Underway After Fatal Shooting on Richland Road

Dothan, Houston County – The Dothan-Houston County Emergency Operations Center received a distressing call on Wednesday night, November 22, 2023, at approximately 10:07 PM. The call reported a firearm assault in the 4000 block of Richland Road, sparking a swift response from the Dothan Police Officers and Dothan Fire and Rescue teams.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures on the victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The injured individual, identified as 19-year-old Antwan Shonquez Register of Dothan, was swiftly transported to Southeast Health, where medical professionals continued their efforts to save his life. Tragically, despite the tireless efforts of the medical team, Register succumbed to his injuries.
