Accident – Death – Obituary News : Prince William Police Department Investigating Fraud Incident

In a recent report by the Prince William Police Department, authorities are investigating a fraud incident that occurred in Dumfries. The incident was reported by a resident located in the 16000 block of Fairway Drive. According to the report, the victim, a 65-year-old woman, fell victim to a scam under false pretenses.

The victim received a phone call in the morning, around 9:30 a.m., from individuals claiming to be her family member involved in a vehicle crash. The fraudsters went to great lengths to convince the victim, posing as a police officer and a public defender. They coerced the victim into giving a large sum of money, believing that it would help her family member.

To carry out the scam, the victim was instructed to put the money inside a box. She then handed the box to an unknown person, who was later discovered to be a ride-share driver unwittingly involved in the scheme. The incident serves as a reminder for residents to exercise caution and not provide personal information or money to individuals claiming to be affiliated with the police or court system.

Law enforcement advises that if residents are concerned about the well-being of their loved ones, they should always contact them directly through known means. Arrest Made in Connection to Armed Robbery

In another development, the Prince William Police Department has made an arrest in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at the Super 8 located on Fraley Boulevard in Dumfries. The robbery was reported on November 5, and the suspect has been identified as Bryce Laron HENRY, a 24-year-old resident of Manassas.

After an extensive search, HENRY was located and taken into custody in Fairfax County on November 20. He has been charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, abduction, and domestic assault & battery. The court date for his case is pending, and the availability of bond is currently unavailable.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim, a 33-year-old woman, and the accused were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical confrontation. The accused repeatedly struck the victim and prevented her from leaving their room. At one point during the altercation, HENRY brandished a firearm and demanded money from the victim before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no shots were fired, but the victim sustained minor injuries.

Prior to HENRY’s arrest, the police had issued warrants for his arrest but were unable to locate him. However, with the diligent efforts of law enforcement, he was eventually apprehended and will now face the legal consequences of his actions.

Domestic Dispute Ends in Strangulation

In a separate incident, the Prince William Police Department responded to a domestic dispute in Woodbridge. Officers were called to a residence on Kingswell Drive on November 20 at 1:32 a.m. The investigation revealed that a 39-year-old woman and a family member, identified as Tamiko RIVERA, were engaged in a heated argument that turned physical.

During the altercation, RIVERA grabbed the victim and proceeded to strangle her. Fortunately, the parties were able to separate, and RIVERA fled the scene before the police arrived. However, officers were able to locate and arrest RIVERA without incident in the vicinity.

The victim reported minor injuries as a result of the incident. Following the investigation, RIVERA was charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery. As of now, RIVERA is being held without bond, and the court date for the case is pending.
