Three-year-old kidnapped and planned to be sold for Rs 2 lakh, three teenagers arrested

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Mumbai: Three teenagers, including a girl, have been arrested by the Wadala police for their involvement in the kidnapping of a three-year-old child. The accused, identified as Sanika Waghmare, Pawan Pokharkar alias Pavya, and Sarthak Bambole, all 18 years old, were allegedly planning to sell the child for Rs 2 lakh. Sanika, a first-year degree science student, was among the arrested individuals.

The incident came to light when Suman Chaurasia, the mother of the missing child, approached the Wadala police on Monday. She reported that her son had gone missing while playing near their residence. The police immediately formed two teams and initiated an investigation into the matter. During their inquiries, Chaurasia discovered that her son had last been seen with Sanika, their neighbor. She contacted Sanika, who claimed to be in college at the time.

On Tuesday, two men named Shakeel Shaikh and Sainath Kamble arrived at the Wadala police station with the missing boy. Kamble, an acquaintance of Sanika, informed the police that she had requested him to hand over the child, stating that he was the missing boy. The police then called Sanika for questioning, during which she confessed to the crime.

Sanika revealed that Pavya had approached her two days prior, asking her to bring a child under the age of 10. Pavya had promised them a sum of Rs 2 lakh if they could “sell” the child. Following the plan, Sanika and Pavya took the child by taxi to Kalyan, where they met Bambole. However, a dispute over payment arose, leading them to return to Wadala with the child. Sanika then handed the child over to Kamble. The accused have been remanded in police custody until November 24.

The Wadala police have commended the swift action taken in this case, leading to the safe recovery of the kidnapped child. Usha Babar, the acting charge of senior police inspector, stated, “The accused were remanded in police custody till November 24.”

In other recent news, the Ahmednagar police successfully traced a 13-year-old boy who had gone missing after scoring low marks in his exams. The police launched a search operation and circulated the boy’s photos on social media. Within six hours, the boy was found and reunited with his parents. He later admitted that he had left home due to disappointment over his exam results.

Meanwhile, in Chhattisgarh, a youth suspected of being a police informer was abducted and killed by Naxalites in Narayanpur district. The victim, Amar Uikey, was allegedly involved in the killing of two Naxalites the previous month. Uikey was produced before a kangaroo court and sentenced to death. The Naxalites claimed that Uikey had provided information to the police about their whereabouts, resulting in encounters. In a separate incident, security personnel discovered five improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by Naxalites in Kanker district, confirming the presence of senior Naxalite cadre in the region.

In Bengaluru, a peculiar theft case was reported when a woman called the police to report a stolen brass vessel from her toilet. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when a boy from her neighborhood returned the vessel upon hearing the siren of a police patrol vehicle. It was later revealed that the theft was a result of a dispute between the woman’s son and the boy. As the vessel was returned, the woman decided not to file a complaint.
