A prominent leader of the Swechchhasebak League, Shahadat Hossain, was tragically killed on Tuesday night in what is believed to be a targeted attack by his rivals. The incident took place in the Mithadighi area of Satkania upazila, located in the Chattogram district of Bangladesh.

The 34-year-old Shahadat Hossain, who served as the general secretary of the Sadaha union unit of Swechchhasebak League, was the son of Yunus, a resident of the same area, as reported by Reuters.

During the attack, Shahadat’s elder brother, Anwar Hossain, also sustained injuries.

According to local sources, Shahadat had a history of animosity with his neighbors, Tarek and Elahi, over their involvement in drug abuse. The dispute between them escalated on Tuesday night at around 10:30 pm, leading to a heated altercation. The situation quickly turned violent, and both Shahadat and Anwar were indiscriminately stabbed by their rivals.
