Accident – Death – Obituary News : Grandview Heights Police Detain Woman in Connection with Beating Death Investigation

The Grandview Heights Division of Police, in collaboration with the Columbus police, has apprehended a woman believed to be one of the two persons of interest in the ongoing investigation into the tragic beating death of 57-year-old Stephen Albright. The incident, which occurred on November 13, left Albright with severe injuries that ultimately led to his untimely demise on November 17.

The Grandview Heights police had been conducting surveillance in the Hilltop area of Columbus when they sought the assistance of the Columbus police and its SWAT unit. The surveillance was focused on a residence in the 100 block of Columbian Avenue, near Glenwood Park. Law enforcement officials swiftly responded to the call and ultimately detained a woman residing in the house for questioning. At this time, her identity has not been revealed by the Grandview Heights police.

While the apprehension of the woman brings some progress to the case, authorities were hopeful that they would also locate the second person of interest, a man, within the same residence. However, as of Tuesday night, the man remains at large, intensifying the search efforts.

Stephen Albright, a devoted husband and a father of two teenage daughters, was discovered unconscious with severe head and face injuries on West 5th Avenue near the railroad tracks east of Dublin Road in Grandview Heights. He was immediately transported in critical condition to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries four days later.

Grandview Heights police initially released images of a man and a woman riding bicycles in the vicinity of the attack. These images were captured from videos recorded between 7:40 and 7:48 p.m. on the day of the incident. In an effort to gather more information and aid in the identification of the individuals, additional images taken from surveillance footage inside and outside a nearby convenience store were also made public.

Law enforcement authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the male person of interest to come forward and assist in the investigation.
