The incident occurred when Shamsher Singh, after assisting the injured biker into a car, was waiting for a PCR van to arrive at the accident site. A speeding water truck ran over Singh, accelerating and escaping the scene.

The horrifying incident unfolded on November 13 when Amarjeet Yadav, who had just met Singh, witnessed two accidents within minutes. Yadav had slowed his vehicle near Kargil Chowk in north Dwarka when a motorcyclist crashed into the back of his car. The motorcyclist, who was found to be drunk, sustained head and eye injuries.

As a crowd gathered at the scene, offering both assistance and curiosity, Singh quickly called for a PCR van. Another bystander volunteered to transport the injured biker to the hospital in his car. Singh, along with others, helped the biker into the vehicle. Yadav and Singh then stood by the roadside, awaiting the arrival of the PCR van.

In a tragic twist of fate, Singh took a step towards his parked two-wheeler for a brief moment to inspect it. It was at that precise moment that a speeding truck plowed into him, crushing him under its wheels. Yadav, who witnessed the horrifying incident, shouted for the driver to stop, but the truck driver sped away. Yadav managed to capture a video of the truck and noted down its registration number.

Filled with determination, Yadav got into his car and chased the truck for 15-20 minutes. Although he briefly overtook the truck, the driver managed to escape by taking a sudden turn. On November 20, Yadav finally took action and lodged a complaint against the truck driver with the police.

Following Yadav’s complaint, the police launched an investigation and identified the truck driver as Bachchan Sahani from Ajaur in Begusarai, Bihar. The driver was arrested on Tuesday and charged with causing death due to negligence and rash driving under the Indian Penal Code.

The victim, Shamsher Singh, was a resident of Qutub Vihar. Unfortunately, by the time the PCR van arrived at the accident site at 10:20 pm on November 13, the first accident victim had already been taken to the hospital. The police initiated technical surveillance to track down the truck driver responsible for Singh’s untimely demise.
