SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – An ongoing police investigation has been launched following a shooting incident in South Bend on Tuesday.

The South Bend Police Department responded to reports of a shooting victim at the intersection of Marion and Taylor streets around 4:45 p.m.
Details regarding the condition of the victim remain unclear at this time, as authorities continue to gather information.
This incident marks the second shooting to occur near the Marion and Taylor streets intersection this year. In May, a victim with a gunshot wound walked into Memorial Hospital, which is located in the vicinity. Unfortunately, the victim, identified as 36-year-old Lecarrington Underwood, succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The South Bend community is now left shaken by another act of violence in their neighborhood, raising concerns regarding public safety and the need for increased security measures.
