Investigators were able to track down Stewart, who was outside the store helping to push carts. Officers approached her and questioned her about the threatening claims. Stewart revealed that she was upset with the off-duty sergeant because he had not greeted her several days prior when she saw him at a GetGo gas station.

During the conversation, Stewart admitted to making the threatening comments but claimed she was only venting and joking. However, investigators were able to record part of the interaction where Stewart explicitly stated that she wanted to shoot the sergeant.

Court records also revealed that Stewart went off-topic during the conversation, discussing incidents that were unrelated to the threatening report. She mentioned that she made those comments because the sergeant “treats her like trash.”

On November 8, Stewart was officially charged with one count of intimidation, which is a Level 6 felony. An initial hearing has been scheduled for November 30 at 2:45 p.m.
