Hayward Woman Arrested for Allegedly Arranging Husband’s Murder

HAYWARD — In a shocking turn of events, a 35-year-old woman named Razma Mohammed-Ibrahim has been arrested for allegedly orchestrating the murder of her 51-year-old husband, Parwiz Assar. The Hayward police investigation, which began on October 8, concluded with the arrest of Mohammed-Ibrahim and her 21-year-old lover, Samim Azizi. The six-week investigation revealed evidence of marital problems, an ongoing affair, and a victim who had sensed the danger he was in but continued to return to his shared home with his wife, according to court records.

The evidence against Azizi and Mohammed-Ibrahim includes a collection of internet searches, text messages, phone records, surveillance footage, and a haunting post on Mohammed-Ibrahim’s Instagram account, made on the day of Assar’s murder. The Instagram post featured the Selena Gomez song “Single Soon.” Additionally, court filings revealed text messages exchanged between the two suspects the day before the killing, where Azizi allegedly reassured Mohammed-Ibrahim about the strength of the knife he had chosen.

Surveillance footage captured the horrific incident as it unfolded outside Assar’s home on Lance Way in Hayward. The footage from the home’s Ring camera showed a masked man armed with a knife emerging from a bush and attacking Assar as he walked towards his front door. The victim screamed for help before the video abruptly cut off.

Mohammed-Ibrahim reported the homicide to the police hours later and agreed to an interview at the Hayward police station. During the interview, she denied any marital problems or arguments related to her affair. However, police records contradicted her statement. Just two weeks prior, Hayward officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at the couple’s home. Assar had allegedly spotted an unknown man entering their house on the Ring camera, leading to a confrontation. Mohammed-Ibrahim claimed that her husband had returned home with a gun after discovering the affair.

Prior to the domestic disturbance incident, Assar had accused his wife of kidnapping their children during a supposed vacation to Canada. He alleged that Mohammed-Ibrahim had allowed their visas to expire deliberately. Friends and family informed the police that Assar began to accept the fact that his marriage was over following this incident.

Shortly after the murder, a close friend of Assar approached investigators at the crime scene. He revealed that Assar had confided in him about his suspicion that Mohammed-Ibrahim might be planning an attack. In fact, Assar had even requested his friend to stay at their home occasionally for his own safety, according to court records.

Authorities identified Azizi as a suspect based on phone records that placed him near the crime scene. Furthermore, evidence indicated that he and Mohammed-Ibrahim had met at a Motel 6 prior to the homicide. Despite Mohammed-Ibrahim allegedly being aware of an arrest warrant for Azizi, she did not warn him in time as she claimed, and both suspects were apprehended.

Mohammed-Ibrahim appeared in court on Monday but did not enter a plea. She is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court again in December.
