According to reports, Prashar, who was born and raised in London and is of Indian descent, was watching his 18-month-old son play when Karavanibozak, 48, approached him. It is alleged that Karavanibozak, assuming Prashar was from Palestine based on his keffiyeh scarf, asked him if he supported Hamas and called them terrorists.

Prashar explained that the keffiyeh scarf was a gift from a Muslim woman he once worked with. He further stated that Karavanibozak accused “his people” of burning babies in the oven and even went as far as saying, “I hope someone burns your baby in an oven.”

When Prashar tried to document the incident by recording a video, Karavanibozak became aggressive and started walking towards him, telling him and his son to leave. In the video that has since gone viral with over a million views, Karavanibozak can be seen approaching Prashar with a phone and a cup of coffee before throwing them at him. Fortunately, Prashar and his son were physically unharmed but understandably shaken by the incident.

On Tuesday, November 21, Hadasa Karavanibozak was charged with multiple counts, including hate crime assault and harassment. The arrest was a result of a community-driven effort, as posters of the attacker were found strewn across the neighborhood, urging her to surrender.

Asish Prashar expressed his gratitude to the community for their support, stating that the incident became widely known in New York due to social media and media coverage. He also mentioned that Karavanibozak was spotted at a local Whole Foods over the weekend.

Prashar emphasized that Karavanibozak’s actions do not represent the Jewish community as a whole. He expressed sadness that his son had to witness such hate and intolerance, but he remains hopeful that this incident will serve as a reminder of the importance of unity and understanding.

The arrest of Hadasa Karavanibozak brings some closure to a disturbing incident that highlighted the need for tolerance and respect in society. It serves as a reminder that hate crimes have no place in any community and that individuals must be held accountable for their actions..
