Police – Accident – Death – Obituary News : New Developments in Sexual Harassment Allegations Against Everest Metro Police Chief Clay Schulz

Weston, Wis. – In a recent update to the sexual harassment case filed against Everest Metro police chief Clay Schulz, it has been determined that the employee who lodged the complaint will not be terminated from her position. Instead, she will be reassigned to the Weston Municipal Building, away from the Everest Metro Police Department Headquarters. This decision was made by a joint committee consisting of the EMPD’s Joint Finance Committee and the Everest Metro Municipal Court Finance Committee.

According to a report from WSAU Radio, there was a motion to terminate the employee, but it failed to progress due to the lack of a second. As a result, the committee opted to reassign the employee, identified as a female, to a different location within the municipality. Although this outcome may seem favorable for the employee, her lawyer, Ben Hitchcock Cross from Cross Law Firm based in Milwaukee, stated that the case is far from over.

Hitchcock Cross expressed his dissatisfaction with the investigation conducted thus far, describing it as a “sham” that failed to address or resolve the issue adequately. He emphasized that his client deserves a proper resolution to the allegations of sexual harassment she made against Chief Schulz.

In addition to the reassignment, the employee will also have a letter of reprimand placed on her record, as reported by WSAU. This further signifies that the complaint was taken seriously and acknowledges the impact it had on the employee.

Chief Schulz was first accused of sexual harassment in September, prompting an investigation into the matter. Despite denying the allegations, he faced significant scrutiny. Ultimately, the police commission ruled that no charges would be filed against Chief Schulz after a thorough investigation.

It is crucial to note that allegations of sexual harassment should always be taken seriously, as they can have severe consequences for all parties involved. The outcome of this case will undoubtedly serve as a reminder of the importance of addressing such allegations promptly and thoroughly to ensure a safe and respectful work environment for all employees..
