Devonte Lovell Clark, Grants Pass Man, Shot and Killed in Riddle: Suspect Gauge Douglas James Main at Large

RIDDLE, Ore. – Authorities in Douglas County are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with the tragic shooting incident that occurred on Monday night in Riddle, which resulted in the death of a Grants Pass resident.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Main Street and East Third Avenue in Riddle at approximately 11:30 p.m. on November 20, following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of Devonte Lovell Clark, a 20-year-old from Grants Pass. Additionally, Killian Mavity, a 29-year-old also from Grants Pass, was found with a gunshot wound to his arm and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, according to deputies.

Detectives investigating the incident are now appealing to the public for any information that may lead to locating the primary suspect, identified as Gauge Douglas James Main, a 19-year-old resident of Riddle. Authorities revealed that Main fled the scene of the shooting in a stolen silver 2017 Honda Civic, bearing Oregon license plate 276 PAT. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and individuals who encounter him or spot the stolen vehicle are urged to immediately contact emergency services by dialing 911 and referencing case number 23-4651.
