Over the past month, the police department has been receiving reports regarding break-ins at the Moraga Country Club where valuable golf clubs and equipment have been stolen. In response to these incidents, officers launched a thorough investigation and were able to obtain video evidence of the suspect and his vehicle at the scene of one of the burglaries.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Trevor James Hudson from Danville, was arrested on Saturday. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of stolen property from several of the reported burglaries. Investigations have linked Hudson to at least 12 burglaries in Moraga and two in Danville, according to a news release.

Efforts are currently underway to recover the stolen items, and many of them have already been located by the diligent officers. The police department is working tirelessly to return the belongings to the rightful owners.

Hudson is currently being held in custody at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond. His bail has been set at $20,000, as confirmed by official records.

Moraga Police Chief Jon King expressed his gratitude towards the diligent efforts of his officers and their counterparts in Danville, stating, “These crimes were solved due to the efforts and tenacity of our officers and our counterparts in Danville. It was definitely a team effort…the different officers who took the reports, connected them together, scoured the area for video evidence, arrested the suspect, and recovered the property. I appreciate the hard work of our Moraga Police team who worked to solve these cases, arrest the suspect, and recover the property stolen in these crimes.”

Chief King also highlighted the crucial role played by home-based video surveillance systems in solving these crimes. He emphasized that a neighbor’s video provided vital evidence, which was used in conjunction with the town’s video system.

Moreover, Chief King urged residents to remain vigilant and ensure the security of their homes, garages, and vehicles. Many of the burglaries occurred due to unlocked or open garages. By taking simple measures like locking doors and securing belongings, the majority of these crimes can be prevented.

The investigation into these incidents is still ongoing, and the police department encourages anyone with information to come forward and contact Detective Craig Walker at 925-888-7056.
