Accident – Death – Obituary News : Colorado Man Suspected of Triple Homicide Arrested in New Mexico

Hanme K. Clark, a 45-year-old Colorado man suspected of killing three people and seriously injuring a fourth in a property line dispute, was apprehended on Tuesday in New Mexico. The arrest, conducted by the New Mexico State Police and U.S. Marshals, took place near Albuquerque without any reported injuries.

Rich Smith, Sheriff of Custer County, Colorado, announced Clark’s arrest in a Facebook post and confirmed that his girlfriend was present in the Dodge Ram pickup during the apprehension. Clark, who had a warrant out for his arrest on three counts of first-degree murder, is currently awaiting extradition back to Colorado.

During a press conference, Sheriff Smith expressed hope that Clark’s arrest would bring relief to the affected neighborhood and community, as well as closure to the families and friends of the victims. The tragic shooting incident occurred on Monday around 1 p.m. in a wooded area approximately eight miles northeast of Westcliffe, which is situated about 75 miles southeast of Colorado Springs.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered two men and a woman shot dead. Another woman, critically injured but expected to survive her wounds, was airlifted to a hospital in Colorado Springs for treatment. According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, a surveyor who was present on the property line managed to escape unharmed.

The victims have been identified as Robert Geers, 63, his wife Beth Wade Geers, 73, and James Daulton, 58. Patty Daulton, James’ wife, remains the sole survivor of the incident.

The Custer County Sheriff’s Department revealed that Clark and one of the victims had an ongoing dispute over the property line, which is believed to have led to the fatal altercation.
