Accident – Death – Obituary News : Peel police have apprehended and charged a juvenile in relation to a tragic carjacking incident that claimed the life of a 24-year-old international student who was delivering food in Mississauga, Ontario.

The deadly incident occurred on July 9, at approximately 2:10 a.m., in the vicinity of Britannia and Creditview roads. According to authorities, when the victim, Gurvinder Nath from Brampton, Ont., arrived at the delivery address, he was confronted by unidentified individuals who attempted to steal his vehicle. A physical altercation ensued, resulting in fatal consequences.

Insp. Phil King, head of the Peel Regional Police’s Homicide Bureau, provided an update in July, stating that investigators believed the food order was a deliberate ploy to lure the driver to a specific location. The assailants then fled the scene in Nath’s vehicle, leaving him gravely injured by the side of the road.

Multiple witnesses rushed to aid Nath and called for emergency assistance. He was subsequently transported to a trauma center, where he succumbed to his injuries on July 14.

Authorities located Nath’s abandoned vehicle a few hours after the carjacking, in the area of Old Creditview and Old Derry roads, less than five kilometers away from the initial crime scene, as revealed by King.

On Wednesday, the police arrested a young person in connection with the homicide. Due to legal restrictions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused cannot be disclosed. However, they are now facing a second-degree murder charge.

Gurvinder Nath, who arrived in Canada from India in July 2021, had dreams of establishing his own business, as shared by friends and family members who had spoken with CTV News Toronto. The victim’s cousin, Balram Krishan, described him as an innocent individual who was simply delivering pizza when he was senselessly attacked.
