Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the tragic death of a 10-year-old boy, who was the son of a senior police officer in Lucknow. The incident occurred when the child was skating near Janeshwar Mishra Park and was struck by a car.

Authorities have successfully located the SUV that allegedly hit the child, leading to his demise. The victim, Namish, was the son of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shweta Srivastava, who is stationed at the police headquarters in Lucknow. The unfortunate incident took place in the Gomti Nagar extension area at approximately 5:30 a.m. After being rushed to a nearby hospital, the child was declared dead, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ashish Srivastava.

In order to investigate the case, five police teams were assembled. DCP Ashish Srivastava confirmed that after reviewing CCTV footage of the incident, a white SUV involved in the accident was found and subsequently recovered. Additionally, two individuals, identified as Sarthak Singh and Devshri Verma, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A case has been registered against the arrested individuals under sections 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as stated by DCP Ashish Srivastava.
